Claims such as “eco package” or “environmentally friendly label” take up little space in a design, but they can suggest more than the manufacturer is able to demonstrate.
Until now, the label has been primarily a marketing tool and a carrier of mandatory product information. The PPWR makes it also an element of the waste management, recycling and environmental compliance system.
A label is not just design, but the meeting point of marketing, regulations and technology. Even minor errors in content, layout or barcode can lead to real losses or a product being withdrawn from the market.
